Quebec police identify the man who was accidentally shot and killed as he was heading to work.

A man who was hit by a Montreal police bullet while commuting to work yesterday morning has died, provincial police have confirmed. Patrick Limoges, 36, was heading to his job at St. Luc Hospital in downtown Montreal when a fight broke out between police officers and a homeless man, Mario Hamel, who allegedly pulled a knife on the police. The officers fired their weapons, killing Hamel, 40, and accidentally striking Limoges in the upper body. Limoges was believed to have been riding a Bixi rental bike when he was hit. The Sûreté du Québec continues to investigate the incident.
