Despite popular belief, somebody's watching the right-wing network.
According to data collected by independent TV ratings agency BBM Canada, Sun News Network attracts an average of 25,400 viewers a minute and is giving its competition a run for their money. This past Tuesday, the network's Byline program, which examined the political agendas of left-wing Hollywood stars, beat CTV News Channel by 14,000 viewers. Likewise for the Sun's Daily Brief, which has beaten the CTV equivalent on a number of nights. "Our numbers are seriously beyond our expectations," said Luc Lavoie, head of development for Sun News. The network is also besting its American soulmate: In two months, it has the same number of viewers that Fox News took a year to acquire.
