The embattled congressman is seeking professional treatment for, uh, sexting?
Rep. Anthony Weiner announced on Saturday that he's requesting a leave of absence from Congress in order to seek professional treatment at an undisclosed location. Weiner made the announcement shortly after other Democratic leaders demanded his resignation following his sexting scandal. Democrats complained the scandal would hurt them politically as they prepare for the 2012 elections. Weiner's spokeswoman, Risa Heller, said in a statement that he was seeking treatment to become a "better husband and healthier person." Weiner's request comes a day after it was revealed he had online contact with a 17-year-old from Delaware, although he denied anything improper happened between them.
