Whether face-to-face human interaction, or 'talking,' is up remains unknown.

The number of people logging on to Facebook at least once a month dropped in Canada and the U.S. during May. While the social network is still growing worldwide – another 11 million signed up last month – 1.52 million fewer people used Facebook in Canada in May than they did in April. All told, 16.6 million Canadian accounts were accessed at least once in the month of May. The trend of declining Facebook use was noted across many developed countries, with six million fewer people logging on in the U.S. last month. Analysts figure the numbers could indicate that Facebook has reached its threshold of penetration in developed economies, while developing markets, such as Brazil and Indonesia, pick up the slack.
