Canada Post says it's lost too much money during the 12 days of rotating strikes.

Canada Post's rotating strikes have become a full-blown work stoppage, as the Crown corporation has locked out its employees from facilities across the country. Canada Post said it had “no choice” but to lock out the workers due to declining mail volume and a desire to end the strike soon, as the 12 days of rotating strikes have cost the company $100 million since they began nearly two weeks ago. The move came as a surprise to members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, who were escorted out of mail facilities shortly before midnight (ET). CUPW said that government cheques, such as disability and pension payments, would still be delivered during the lockout.
