Tim Thomas shuts out the Canucks en route to the Stanley Cup and the Conn Smythe.

The Boston Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 in the seventh game of the Stanley Cup finals, their first title in 39 years. Tim Thomas, the Bruins' goaltender, took home the Conn Smythe as the most valuable player of the series after a performance that stands among the greatest ever. The Canucks leave empty-handed after topping the NHL in the regular season and going up two games to none in the final series. All that the citizens of Vancouver have to fall back on are their world-class standard of living, stunning mountains, sandy beaches, last year's gold-medal Olympic hockey victory, incomparable cuisine, beautiful architecture, and a damn good chance of winning the Cup next year.
