'Hot Chicks'

Councillor Tweets about 'Hot Chicks,' Moral Panic Ensues

Anthony Wiener, this ain't. A Toronto city councillor's errant tweet about attractive females is a story for some reason.

Even though no one has complained about it, various media outlets are reporting on a Toronto city councillor who sent out a tweet about meeting “hot chicks” at a city event – as if it might possibly be a scandal. John Parker tweeted yesterday that he was “delighted and honoured to help unveil eight new Toronto heritage plaques and meet hot chicks in the bargain,” which is just about the most harmless, if a little tactless, tweet to have ever been the focus of a news article. The only person who seems at all peeved by it – not counting faux-outraged journalists – is the city's mayor, Rob Ford, who said he figured Parker would apologize (he hasn't, because he shouldn't).
