Tories Dump Detainee Documents

Praise the unlucky reporters who get to sift through this mountain of bureaucratese.
Another 4,000 pages of documents on Afghan detainees have been released by the government, with the Tories claiming that the disclosure brings to a close the question of whether Canadian officials ever knowingly transferred prisoners to be tortured. The latest document dump was the result of a multi-party agreement last year to determine if accusations about Canadian wrongdoing in Afghanistan had any merit, a charge that the Tories have vigourously denied. Thus far, there's been no smoking gun pointing to collusion to hide practices that might have breached the Geneva Convention, but much of what's been released has been heavily censored, and many of the more sensitive documents pertaining to the issue have been held back.
