The Department of Justice is seeking to do Canada, and the integrity of our refugee system, a solid by bringing home the Quaids.
Now this is the kind of extradition we can get behind: American "actor" Randy Quaid and his wife Evi, who have been holed up in Vancouver since last year claiming they were seeking refuge in Canada from "star whackers," could be summoned back to California to face vandalism and trespassing charges. A district attorney in Santa Barbara, Calif., has filed the paperwork required to get the U.S. Department of Justice to review whether the Quaids should be extradited back to the U.S. The Quaids have been charged with causing more than $5,000 in damages after allegedly breaking into a former home of theirs. Evi Quaid has Canadian citizenship, and Randy, brother of the markedly more talented Dennis Quaid, is applying for it.
