At the G20 in Toronto, not even protest monitors were exempt from the police’s heavy hand.

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association’s protest monitors were caught up in the mass arrests that marred the G20 in Toronto last year. Monitors say they witnessed a level of policy brutality they hadn’t been expecting. The CCLA has been calling for a public inquiry ever since.
