The strike over proposed changes to public sector pensions is expected to be the biggest in years.
Hundreds of thousands of public sector workers in Britain have gone on strike today to protect their pensions. About 600,000 union members representing education and civil service sectors have been called out in response to new reforms they say will force workers to pay more and work longer to receive a reduced pension. The strike will disrupt ports, airports, and railway stations, and could affect 80 per cent of schools in England and Wales as it challenges the year-old government led by Prime Minister David Cameron.
