Members of Hezbollah are expected to be those accused in the assassination of the former Lebanon prime minister.
A UN-backed court delivered an indictment and four arrest warrants Thursday in connection to the 2005 assassination of former Lebanon prime minister Rafik Hariri. Hariri, along with 22 others, died in a massive truck bombing in Beirut. The accused are expected to be members of the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah, though names have not been released. The group denies any role in the killing, and believes the indictment is a result of a conspiracy between Israel and the United States. Lebanese authorities have 30 days to serve the indictments or administer arrest warrants, according to tribunal rules, or the court will order the indictment published in local media.
