The Facebook founder has double the number of followers of Google co-founder Sergey Brin. Awk-ward.
Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, is now the most followed person on Google+, the search engine giant's ballyhooed foray into social networking. Zuckerberg has netted more than 29,000 followers in the week since the beta version of Google+ was launched – 10,000 more than Larry Page, and 14,000 more than Sergey Brin, the co-founders of Google – meaning, perhaps, that Facebook is the most popular subject on its chief rival's network. Other notables include Tom Anderson, the founder of MySpace, who said Google+ would overtake Facebook. Anderson has 4,700 followers, good enough for him to crack the top 20, while Ashton Kutcher has racked up 1,800, and Dallas Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban has scraped together 1,500.
