But police won't get into the details as they investigate the suspicious circumstances under which Richard Oland died.
The death of Canadian brewing icon Richard Oland took a turn for the macabre with a report that the 69-year-old New Brunswick man was killed with an axe, although police refuse to confirm how he died. Oland, whose funeral was held yesterday before a massive crowd at Saint John church, was found dead in his office on Thursday with signs of foul play. The Oland family has long been one of Canada's largest brewing empires, having first sold crisp, cool, and refreshing Moosehead in 1867. Today, Moosehead either brews or markets beer lines such as James Ready, St-Ambroise, Boris, Sam Adams, Griffon, and, of course, Moosehead.
