Rights Group Says Libyan Rebels Looting, Burning Homes

While the rebel leadership denies that the rag-tag fighters have done anything wrong, concerns are mounting over retributive attacks.
A leading rights monitoring group says that Libyan rebels have been looting stores, burning down homes of Moammar Gadhafi supporters, and stealing medical equipment in towns they've taken control of in recent weeks. Human Rights Watch said that while the allegations far fall short of the war crimes committed by the Gadhafi regime, they're concerned that retribution attacks could increase in number and violence as the rebels inch toward Tripoli. Mahmud Jibril, one of the leaders of the rebels' diplomatic arm, the Transitional National Council, denied that any rebel fighters had taken part in such activities.
