"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" is set to to earn over a billion dollars worldwide.
The latest and final Harry Potter film shattered North American Box Office records yesterday by grossing a whopping $92.1 million on opening day in Canada and the U.S. alone. A darling of critics and costume-clad fans alike, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” beat out the previous record-holder, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” which made a comparatively meager $72.7 million. The eight-film Harry Potter franchise, based on the equally popular books by J.K. Rowling, is the most successful in history with worldwide sales of an approximated $6.4 billion. Tolkien was not available for comment.
