Murdoch's right-hand woman is the 10th and most senior person to be arrested in connection with News of the World.
Former News of the World editor Rebekah Brooks was arrested by appointment today in London in connection with allegations of phone hacking and bribery. The longtime ally of Rupert Murdoch and Prime Minister David Cameron resigned from her post as News International’s chief executive on Friday, and was due to give evidence before MPs on July 19th. She is currently in custody. Metropolitan Police Services would not release her name, but said a 43-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications and suspicion of corruption allegations. That could be anyone.
