The same waters that made southwestern Manitoba flatter than a pancake were home to some seriously mean-looking dinosaurs.

The remains of two giant dinosaurs known as “T-Rexes of the sea” have been uncovered by paleontologists in southwestern Manitoba. The bones of two Mosasaurs – massive, aquatic reptilian carnivores around 15 metres long and some 80 million years old – were found near fossils of a giant squid, which sounds like it could have made for an epic battle that really needs to be turned into a Jurassic Park 4. The Mosasaur fossils could join one already on display at the Fossil Museum in Morden, Man., which has suddenly shot up on the must-see list of a certain employee of The Mark.
