Murdoch Mysteries

Harper to Cameo in Tonight's Murdoch Mysteries

The PM's walk-on role in his favourite TV show hits the airwaves tonight. We'll, umm, PVR it.

Just in case you have absolutely nothing else to do tonight, and want to see the prime minister, holder of the highest office in the land, pretend to be a bumbling 19th century police officer, then tune in to tonight's episode of Murdoch Mysteries. The show, which airs on CityTV at 10 p.m. ET, follows the pursuits of an Inspector Murdoch (no relation to those media guys who have been generating a spot of controversy across the pond) in late-1800s Toronto. Stephen Harper's cameo, appropriately, figures in an episode about former prime ministers John A. MacDonald and Wilfred Laurier. Perhaps the most shocking aspect of the otherwise fairly milquetoast program will be Harper's hair, which press photos show to be remarkably un-helmetlike and, dare we say, almost becoming of the PM.
