Beavis and Butthead Returning This Fall

MTV makes its first good scheduling decision in years.

Beavis and Butthead, the animated icons of Generation X, will return to television sets this fall to take on such plagues as Jersey Shore and Kesha's music videos. The duo, created by Mike Judge, ruled on MTV for years in the 1990s, splitting their time between ripping terrible music videos and getting into adolescent mischief and making fart jokes. Judge announced at Comic-Con in San Diego that the two will be back to do much the same, and will even keep their trademark AC/DC and Metallica T-shirts. We can't welcome this move enough. Beavis and Butthead provided an essential counterweight to overwrought grunge music, insufferable hair metal, and other such evils that dominated the music channel in the early '90s. Not to get all “kids these days,” but here's hoping they can maybe, just maybe, bring, say, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga down to size.
