Cameron Cool with Gadhafi Sticking Around

So long as the Libyan colonel relinquishes power, the U.K. doesn't mind him eking out a retirement in his homeland.
British Prime Minister David Cameron, who's had just a terrible month, is the latest to indicate he's fine with Moammar Gadhafi kicking around Libya if it means bringing the war (remember that thing?) to a quick end. Members of the U.K.'s foreign department said they still insist that Gadhafi must step down from power, but that they would accept him riding off into retirement in his home country, which he has said he would only leave in a body bag. Previously, Cameron and others in NATO had called for Gadhafi to face the International Criminal Court in The Hague, although that seems unlikely to happen if he stays in Libya. Analysts are expecting slow progress for the rebels, if any, during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, making it very likely that the wild-haired dictator will stick around at least until the end of August without some sort of negotiated settlement.
