The first ever study on the effects of growing up in pot-growing household shows the kids are usually healthy and drug-free.
The children of marijuana growers were found in a Toronto study to be drug-free, and more often than not, in better health than their peers leading researchers to question if taking custody away from drug-producing parents is a wise policy. The study, undertaken by the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, concluded that the kids' health is likely tied to the fact that most pot growers have a high (if illegal) income, and that when kids were taken away from their parents, their well-being tended to suffer. This, however, wasn't the case for children growing up in meth labs (umm... duh), because of the exposure to harmful chemicals used in the process of making methamphetamine. We'll add the fact that meth also totally ravages anyone who uses it and exposing kids to that in any way, shape or form is pretty shoddy parenting. Haven't they seen Breaking Bad?
