The cheeky frontman for the online pranksters is the latest to have been arrested in a recent worldwide effort against hackers.
Scotland Yard says it has arrested the spokesman for LulzSec, the hacking group that's broken into websites ranging from PBS and Fox News to those of Sony and Arizona law enforcement officials. The British police's cybercrime unit is responsible for tracking down the 19-year-old, who goes by the pseudonym Topiary, in the Shetland Islands off the Scottish Coast. Topiary (his real name hasn't been released) had been the chief spokesman for LulzSec, and had posted all matter of irreverent messages denoting the hackers' latest mischief. The group announced in June that they were calling it quits, but re-emerged in recent weeks to deface the U.K.'s Sun tabloid's site, posting an article claiming that News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch had died.
