Egyptians torn between rooting for the 83-year-old Mubarak's death and rooting for his trial now have their answer.
Ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak is healthy enough to stand trial, meaning he'll be brought to Cairo next month to face charges of murder and corruption. Mubarak fled to the resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh after stepping down on Feb. 11 after weeks of mass protests. He was then taken to hospital on for not-entirely-disclosed health reasons (cancer, heart attacks, and other ailments have been attributed), making it for awhile uncertain if the dictator would be able to appear in court alongside his two sons and interior Habib el-Adly. Egypt's health minister, Amr Helmy, confirmed today that Mubarak had recovered enough to make appear at his trial to be held at Cairo's Convention Centre, which is usually reserved for business conventions.
