The new Japanese device is currently on display at the Museum of Modern Art.
After years of longing, men can finally experience the joys of menstruation. Japanese artist Sputniko! (her exclamation mark, not ours) has designed and built a device that simulates the experience of menstruation. The Menstruation Machine, which is currently on display at the Museum of Modern Art, uses electrodes to stimulate pain in the lower abdomen and comes complete with a blood-dispensing mechanism designed to last five days. Sputniko!, who believes menstruation will become obsolete in the future, has also released an accompanying music video, which has already received 212,000 hits on YouTube. Thousands of pool parties are expected to be cancelled if the device becomes commercially available.
