The Toronto-born march for women's rights hits the streets of India.

Delhi's first ever Slut Walk went off without a hitch Sunday as hundreds of men and women took to the streets to protest sexual violence against women in India. The walk drew roughly 800 students, foreigners, and activists in a city where sexual assault is an everyday occurrence. Though Delhi's walk had far fewer miniskirts and crop tops than the Toronto version, it did include a street play about rape. The event's 19-year-old organizer Umang Sabarwal said "this is just the beginning, our aim is to keep this going and create awareness about women's issues." Torontonian activists started the Slut Walk after a police officer told York students that women who want to avoid sexual assault should stop "dressing like sluts."
