A new study supports the theory that humans are responsible for the demise of Neanderthals.
New research from Cambridge University professors suggests modern humans really are responsible the death of Neanderthals over 40,000 years ago. According to their theory, the arrival of modern humans from Africa left Neanderthals outnumbered 10 to 1 in their own territory in Western Europe. The added competition for crucial resources like food and fuel was allegedly the nail in their ancient coffins. Just when we thought we were off the hook. The cause of Neanderthals' sudden decline has long been a topic of debate amongst scientists, who recently discovered that all humans not of African descent are part Neanderthal.
