Vancouver to Distribute Clean Crack Pipes

A new harm-reduction strategy is underway for Vansterdam’s crack addicts.

Health authorities in Vancouver have revealed that they will be distributing clean, unused crack pipes to drug users this year as part of a comprehensive harm-reduction plan for drug addicts. The city already gives out clean mouth pieces for crack pipes, but this is the first time local health authorities in the city will give out the pipes themselves. Last month, research at the University of Victoria suggested that roughly two-thirds of crack users in the region share pipes, even when free mouth pieces are distributed. Officials say the goal is to reduce the spread of disease and encourage contact between addicts and health care workers. Crack shack or mansion just got a little more difficult.
