Lloyd Robertson's Final Broadcast Set for Sept. 1

... And that's the kind of broadcasting career it's been.

CTV news anchor Lloyd Robertson will host his final broadcast on Sept. 1, bringing an end to an unparalleled chapter of a storied six-decade career in the news business. Robertson, 77, announced his retirement from the network's nightly news program last year, but his final broadcast wasn't made public until CTV announced it today. Veteran reporter and occasional anchor Lisa LaFlamme will take over Robertson's chair on Sept. 2, but Robertson says he'll still stick around as host of the investigative W5 program. Robertson has anchored CTV's nightly news broadcast since 1976, and that came after some 25 years of working as a reporter for CTV and CBC before that.
