London Calms Down while Rest of England Riots

More than 1,000 people have been arrested and at least one man killed in the U.K.'s worst unrest since the 1980s.
The rioting in London seems to have quieted down somewhat (the threat of water cannons, rubber bullets, and more tend to have that effect), but just like in trends musical and fashion, the rest of England has caught the riot bug, with unrest now reported in basically every major city in the country. Looters in Manchester made the most out the opportunity afforded to them when the city's police sent a large contingent of officers to deal with the troubles in London, breaking into high-end shops and causing the usual shenanigans. Birmingham, Nottingham, Gloucester, Bristol, Liverpool, and Leicester all fared similarly last night, while more than 1,000 people have been arrested across the country since the riots began Saturday. Police in Birmingham are investigating to find out whether three men who died in a car collision were killed due to the unrest, while authorities in London and elsewhere are keeping their eyes on a handful of vigilante groups that have taken to the streets to protect their communities (although some reports suggest these groups might just be drunken white guys looking to beat up some immigrants).
