Pssh. Stupid fish missed Shark Week by a week.
Great white sharks are coming to kill us all, and there is nothing you, we, or anyone we know can do about it. At least that's what we make of the massive killer fish found in the Bay of Fundy this week, a female baby great white that's three metres long, 272 kilograms heavy, and now, thankfully, dead. It's the first instance of one of the man-eating sea monsters being confirmed in Canada in a decade, even if scientists say they swim through the Bay of Fundy every year (note to self: NEVER SWIM IN THE BAY OF FUNDY EVER AGAIN). There have only been 33 great whites recorded in Canada since 1874, and, to us, that's one of the prime selling points of living here (that, and a distinct lack of poisonous snakes and spiders). Shark specialists say the shark was probably chasing food, and, with the northern reaches of the oceans getting warmer and fish stocks in more temperate climes getting smaller, we might be getting more of the death-driven visitors in the coming years.
