Check out the daily smiting at noon, the parade of lepers at 2:30, and the stoning of promiscuous women at 5!
The folks behind the Creation Museum in Hebron, Kentucky are planning to expand the museum by building a replica of Noah's Ark, an actual Tower of Babel, and a bunch of other biblically themed stuff. The theme park, to be called “The Ark Encounter,” is supposed to open sometime next year on the grounds of the museum in northern Kentucky. The $155-million project, funded by Answers In Genesis, the fundamentalist Christian group behind the museum, will present the God thingies as fact, although it's unclear if they will have a daily demonstration of the Tower of Babel being blown over by a mighty wind (even if a quick fact check points out that in Genesis, the tower just goes unfinished, whereas in other texts, it's disaster central). The Associated Press article also hips us to the fact that there are a bunch of other arks around the U.S., most of which haven't fared too well. There's also one at a religious water park west of Ottawa (no, really!), but we're not sure where water slides figure into the Old Testament.
