State Funeral for Jack Layton Set for Saturday

Roy Thomson Hall will be packed by those paying tribute to the NDP leader.

Jack Layton's state funeral will be held this Saturday at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall. We don't really have much to add to this that hasn't already been said, either in these pages or elsewhere, but if you plan on going, we suggest you drop by the impromptu chalk memorial that's sprung up near city hall to pay your respects or just take in something truly human and beautiful. Also, if you're capable, grow a 'stache by Saturday.
