Canadians Lie, Lie, Lie to their Employers

That’s what you get when you raise a generation on Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Survey says: About half of Canadians admit they have faked being sick to take time off work. In a recent international poll by the Workforce Institute, about 52 per cent of Canadians admitted to playing hooky from their jobs, and a majority of respondents cited stress as the main reason. But no need to be too disappointed in Canadians— in China, nearly three quarters of workers confessed faking illness, and Canada also trailed far behind India, Australia, and the UK. France was the least dishonest, (or the most, depending on how much you trust self-report) with only 16 per cent reporting illness. So what exciting adventures did Canadians embark upon? The most common activities were staying home and watching TV and staying in bed. Because why go to work when you can watch the Price is Right?
