Bonjour Again, Monsieur Strauss-Khan.

The former IMF head returned to France early Sunday morning to light applause.
Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former head of the International Monetary Fund, has returned to France a (relatively) free man. This is the first time he’s been in his home country since he was cleared of all criminal charges of sexual assault. He still faces a civil case in the U.S and a French investigation into a claim of attempted rape. Strauss-Khan flew into Paris Sunday morning from the U.S. with his wife, smiling but not answering questions. Before a New York maid accused him of sexual assault, he was believed to be a leading candidate for France’s presidency. Now, eight months before the election, the public seems to have cooled towards him. Somehow the Socialist politician’s riches-to-rags-to-riches story may not be sitting well with them.
