Campbell's Order of B.C. Met With Protests

At this rate, we bet Campbell's afraid to leave his house lest a petition declare his shoes don't properly match his belt.

British Columbians, most of whom have never met a petition they wouldn't sign (kidding, you guys are great!), are now getting riled up over the province awarding former premier Gordon Campbell the Order of B.C. Current Premier Christy Clark announced on Friday that Campbell, who led the province for 10 years before resigning over HST backlash earlier this year, would be given the province's top honour for his years of public service. One observer, Ingrid Voight, started a Facebook group arguing that Campbell should be disqualified from the award this year, as sitting politicians can't receive the awarad and held his office until just after the nomination period was closed. Voight's Facebook group has since amassed more than 2,000 “likes”, while another petition has garnered more than 1,600 signatures since Friday.
