Rebels, Gadhafi Forces Committed War Crimes: Amnesty Int'l

Rights group urges for an end to reprisals against Gadhafi loyalists to ease transition to new government.
Just as Canada is set to return its embassy staff to Tripoli, Amnesty International has issued a report stating that both the rebel forces and troops loyal to Moammar Gadhafi are likely guilty of committing war crimes during the six-month war in Libya. The report finds that Gadhafi forces used just about every dirty trick in the book (cluster bombs, torture, killing protesters, launching artillery raids on residential areas, you name it!), while some factions within the rebel movement carried out reprisal attacks against Gadhafi loyalists. The justice minister of the ruling National Transitional Council was quick to dismiss the findings, but reports of Libyan blacks and other migrant workers being targeted by rebel forces across the country cast doubt on the NTC's version of events. Amnesty is calling on the NTC to at least make certain that there are no further reprisal attacks ahead of democratic elections.
