Dorks across the world rejoice as an independent centre for the study of physics opens an enormous expansion this weekend.
This weekend, Waterloo, Ontario is unveiling the largest physics playhouse in the world. The Stephen Hawking Centre has been opened as an expansion to the Perimeter Insitute for Theoretical Physics, doubling the building in size. 250 researchers can now ponder the bost basic -and most challenging- questions about the universe in a 55,000 square-foot addition to the Perimeter. The expansion, which cost, $29 million, features natural light, an herb garden in the middle of the building, a sky room, and several interaction areas for people to collaborate. The institutes director believes the new design will offer the best setting for people to think about extremely abstract ideas and play StarCraft.
