Air Canada Strike Averted

Deal reached at with just hours to go before the strike deadline.
So much for that Air Canada flight attendants' strike. The airline and the union representing the flight attendants have apparently hashed out a temporary deal with just hours to go before the strike deadline at midnight tonight. Federal Labour Minister Lisa Raitt had threatened both sides to get a deal together before the deadline, or she would have introduced back-to-work legislation in Parliament. If she can get the NBA to end its player lockout, then we might just take back all we've said about her union-busting tendencies. Probably not, but we might.
