PCs, Liberals in Dead Heat Ahead of Debate

Poll of the Day: Just nine more days, guys. Bear with us.
What hath the Gods of Polldom bestowed upon us today? Ekos Research finds that the Ontario Liberals are maintaining a three-point lead over the Progressive Conservatives ahead of tonight's debate, with the NDP not too far behind. Dalton McGuinty's Liberals lead with 34.9 per cent support from decided voters, while Tim Hudak's PCs nabbed 31.4 per cent of support while Andrea Horwath's NDP are holding steady at 24.7 per cent. The Green Party has rebounded somewhat from earlier polls that showed then with about one per cent support, as the Ekos poll has them at 7.6 per cent. That poll means neither the PCs or the Liberals are anywhere near majority territory, which could very well result in the NDP holding the balance of power should a minority government result next Thursday. Regardless, the tightness of the race ought to make for good TV once the leaders square off tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST.
