Claims to be not just "News for Jews," despite that being just about the best tagline any broadcaster could ever hope for.
The world's first Jewish 24-hour cable news channel has debuted in Europe, promising to give a "look at the world through Jewish glasses." Mazel Tov! Anyhow, Jewish News 1, or JN1, is set to be rolled out across the Middle East and North America in the coming weeks. The network intends to provide a Jewish perspective to cable news, adding to the growing list of 24-hour news channels such as Al Jazeera, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Sky News, BBC ... really, let's just hope JN1 is the last of these networks. The world has enough. JN1 is a not-for-profit network owned by two Ukrainian millionaires, and will air in at least seven languages. Bureaus have already opened in Brussels, Tel Aviv, and Kiev, and there are plans to open more in Paris, Washington, and London, but so far (shofar?), nothing in Canada.
