The VPD say they will file warrants against every major media outlet in town. This is bound to go smoothly ...
The Vancouver Police say they will force local media outlets to hand over any footage they have of the riot that erupted after the Vancouver Canucks lost to the Boston Bruins in the Stanely Cup final in June. The cops will issue warrants to basically every media outlet in town, including the Vancouver Sun, The Province, The Globe and Mail, the CBC, CTV, and Global, although the media could very well push back and refuse to hand over their footage for reasons of journalistic integrity. Meanwhile, the police say they're on track to press charges against at least 40 suspects by Oct. 31. Since 138 days will have gone by between the riots and that deadline, the Vancouver Police Department will have an arrest rate of just 0.28 arrests per day.
