Tire slashings, graffiti hit Toronto ridings with just two days to go before election day.
Toronto Police are investigating a slew of Ontario election-related vandalism, which might just take the cake for lamest vandalism ever. In the riding of Scarborough Centre, the cars of nine Liberal supporters had their tires slashed, and one even had its brake lines cut. Over in the St. Paul's riding, someone spraypainted the words "Lieberal Scum" on the side of a house bearing a Liberal lawn sign. Our extensive knowledge of the Sun chain message boards leads us to believe that this graffiti artist is probably also against taxes and windmills. (In fact, we're kinda surprised there wasn't a parallel "Dalton McGuilty" tagged next to it.) Similar such anti-Liberal vandalism was committed around Toronto during the federal election campaign, too, although we suppose we should be thankful that this is the worst kind of political violence we ever have to deal with in these here parts.
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath will be taking your questions on The Mark's Facebook page today from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST.
