The Manitoba NDP hopes for a fourth term after voters bring back the Liberals in P.E.I. and opt for consistency in N.W.T.
Manitoba heads to the polls today in the third provincial/territorial election of the autumn, with NDP Leader Greg Selinger on the verge of delivering his party a record fourth straight term in power. Conservative Leader Hugh McFadyen has been polling closely, though, while Liberal Leader Dan Gerrard, the party's only MLA, just wants to hold on to his job. The polls close at 8 p.m. local time. Last night, Prince Edward Island voted to keep Robert Ghiz's Liberals around for another term, while voters in the Northwest Territories decided to keep around 13 of the territory's 18 incumbent MLAs. The territory doesn't have political parties (however can it work!?!?!), although early signs point to MLA Michael Miltenberger being a frontrunner for the premiership. Up next is Ontario, set for this Thursday.
