Coptic Christians Targeted in Egypt

Thousands of demonstrators against anti-Christian attacks were, ironically, attacked.
Looks like the honeymoon is over in Egypt as violent clashes have broken out in Cairo. On Sunday, Coptic Christians protested following an attack on a Coptic Church in Aswan, the most recent of several incidents targeting the country’s largest minority. Coptic protestors were then reportedly crushed by military vehicles. As the riot moved to Tahrir Square, thousands joined in the violence on both sides of the conflict. Egypt’s military council has called for an investigation into the incident, and the cabinet is holding an emergency meeting. Egypt's Coptic Church has also called for a three day fast starting Tuesday. At least 24 people have died and 212 have been wounded, though the damage to the country’s national unity and prospects for peace have yet to be measured.
