Canada Getting Occupied Today

Relax, it's not the British.

The Occupy Movement is set to hit the world- including Canada- today as thousands are expected to protest in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and at least 12 other cities across the country. The grassroots movement that started last month on Wall Street seems to have drawn massive crowds globally, with an interesting mix of causes and demands in Canada including complaints about corporate greed, the tar sands, and the poor treatment of aboriginal people. On Friday, the Bank of Canada head called the protests “constructive” though Premier McGuinty warned protestors to act lawfully. Nearly 1,000 cities worldwide are expected to participate in today’s Occupy the Globe Day of Action.
