And all is right with the world.
Don Cherry may have called former NHLers Stu Frimson, Chris Nilan and Jim Thomson “pukes,” “hypocrites” and “turncoats,” (how adorably old-fashioned), but everything seems to be back to normal because now he takes it back. On his Saturday night Coach’s Corner, Cherry apologized formally to the three athletes for accusing them of changing their minds about fighting in the NHL and blaming drug and alcohol use on in-game fighting. Though he’d already half-apologized last week, a statement the three athletes made through a law firm likely prompted the more “wholehearted” apology. Cherry said Saturday that he was wrong in his accusations and that none of the former athletes made those claims. According to Twitter, they seem to be BFF again.
