Gadhafi's Son Open to Being Tried by ICC

On second thought, maybe that whole 'dying for your country' thing is a bit overrated.
Saif al-Islam Gadhafi, the one-time heir apparent to take control of Libya from his father, Moammar Gadhafi, looks like he would rather be hauled in front of the International Criminal Court than face the same fate as pops. Officials with the National Transitional Council, the interim government of Libya, said today that the younger Gadhafi has indicated to them that he would submit to being brought to The Hague on a warrant issued back in May for war crimes. He had previously said that he would die in Libya before he would leave, although the rather inglorious end to his father's life probably made him rethink that statement. After all, Saif had been widely seen before the war as a reformer and liberal who would have helped Libya shed its dictatorial ways and embrace democracy. When war broke out, though, he toed the family line on the "death to the invaders/born in Libya, die in Libya" thing. Four of Gadhafi's other children are in exile in Algeria and Niger, while three others were killed in the war.
