A fitting exit for a classy man.

The most philandering and fiscally irresponsible 75-year-old world leader finally stepped down last night after being booed by a crowd of over 1,000 people. Silvio Berlusconi may have left the presidential palace through a side door, but the longest-serving Italian Prime Minister since World War II may not be done with politics forever. Last night, he told party members he hoped to return to office quickly. Meanwhile, Mario Monti, the former EU Competition Commissioner, is set to take power as soon as this evening after receiving support from both the People of Liberty party and the Democratic Party. Keen to prove he’s no Berlusconi part II, he declined to comment about his predecessor and took off for mass sans 17-year-old.
