Smart People Do Drugs

If a study says so, than it must be true, right?
British research suggests that people with high childhood IQs are more likely than their less-endowed counterparts to use illegal drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy, with the effect being especially pronounced in women. The long-term study followed 8,000 people from the age of five until the age of 30. Men who had relatively high IQs at age five were 50 per cent more likely to have sampled ecstasy and amphetamines, while smarter women were twice as likely as their counterparts to have smoked weed or done cocaine. The study also took into account mental health and socioeconomic factors when making their conclusions. The team says the reason for more rampant drug use among the smarts could be due to them having brains more hardwired for new experiences or to them being overly bored as youths. Our two cents is that drugs are the only way to make living in the U.K. for so long tolerable.
